One of the most anticipated comedies this January is One For the Money staring Katherine Heigl as Stephanie Plum. Her first case involves tracking down a former vice cop on the run from a charge of murder one, a man who also happens to be her former lover.
Another highly movie adaptation is The Hunger Games starring Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson as Katniss and Peeta respectively. The Hunger Games is about a futuristic North America, where the rulers of Panem maintain control through an annual televised survival competition pitting young people from each of the twelve districts against one another in a fight to the death, sixteen-year-old Katniss's skills are put to the test when she voluntarily takes her younger sister's place.
Several other movies based on books coming out in 2012 include an adaptation of Dr.Seuss’ The Lorax. This picture book is about a little creature called the Lorax who speaks up for the environment when a Once-ler comes into the neighborhood and starts doing business in a definitely un-eco-friendly fashion.
Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter based on the book by Seth Grahame-Smith will hit theatres this summer. He embarks on a mission of revenge that takes him all the way to the White House.
